Supporting the School
The School of Politics and Global Studies at ASU is one of the most stimulating environments for scholars, students, practitioners and visitors to engage in international and global issues. The school has an extraordinary group of nationally and internationally recognized faculty, which is composed of both core global studies faculty and affiliated faculty from throughout the university, who are organized around key current research and teaching themes.
The school brings together sociologists, political scientists, urban planners, economists, anthropologists, geographers and scholars in other disciplines to share knowledge and to develop theoretical and practical applications to the challenges of attaining quality of life in a contested global context.
The school prepares students for meaningful roles that will contribute to the resolution of the issues facing the world today. Students may concentrate on governance and international institutions, economic development, urban systems, global environmental concerns or violence, conflict and human rights. To help assure global competence, all majors are required to take an international experience/internship and to have at least four semesters of a foreign language.
Working with other academic units such as the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, the School of Justice and Social Inquiry, African and African American Studies, the North American Center for Transborder Studies, and the departments of history and religious studies, the school infuses global realities into the fabric of ASU’s educational mission and spromots interdisciplinary research.
Thanks to our generous donors, the school has accounts through which you can support international research or student internship travel scholarships. Please contact Patrick Kenney or you may contribute directly by using the "ASU Invest" buttons on the right.
