Political Science at Arizona State University Tempe campus seeks applications for the Norma F. Schuessler Scholarship. The scholarship (approximately $1000) is awarded each spring to an undergraduate student who will be continuing classes at ASU, has amassed a strong academic record in the face of unusual or uncommon challenges and demonstrates financial need. Ms. Shuessler, mother of Ruth S. Jones (the first tenured woman in the ASU Department of Political Science and the first woman to chair Political Science at ASU) wanted to provide financial assistance to a student who has met obstacles or challenges on the path to completing an undergraduate degree.
